Wave Systems Demos Hardware-based Network Endpoint Validation at Interop

In an effort to limit data access by using proof-of-encryption for Seagate FDE hard drives, and to extend Juniper Networks’ (News - Alert) Unified Access Control (UAC) authentication, Wave Systems is displaying its Network Access Control (NAC) solution this week at the Interop (News - Alert) show in Las Vegas.

This solution verifies the presence and state of a full disk encryption hard drives as a prerequisite for network access. The result is assurance that only computers in full compliance of security policies that comply fully with the company’s security policies will be allowed on the network.

The joint solution offers robust platform authentication and strong protection against software attacks that create “lying endpoints.” Wave's EMBASSY Endpoint Enforce ensures that the endpoint integrity data collected is not compromised or otherwise altered as it measures, validates and reports on the integrity of the Juniper UAC client components.

By making use of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chip to measure, sign and store endpoint integrity metrics, Wave’s software extends the security of commercially available NAC solutions.

In this demonstration, Wave will also show how standards-based, client PC security hardware can ensure the integrity of the machines on a corporate network. It enhance the capabilities of traditional NAC solutions.
