In a way it is understandable that we are at 80 cents. There has been little to no evangelizing of this technology for way too long. Everyting hased moved at 20$ of the anticipated speed.

Having said that, we now have just under 30 million sets of client software out there. Cisco has finally joined the MSFT/TNC alliance and the TCG NAC protocolls have been submitted the Internet Standards Group to be sanctioned ans the Internet standard.

Microsoft has basically endorsed the transitive trust model at RSA 2008. Jsut about all new platforms have a TPM. Education is ongoing and systems integrators ar waking up to the business opportunity at hand right now and see the potential for the future. Customers are started to implement not only FDE.2 but also starte to activate the TPMs.

It has all been slow, but the spring has been wound up. This space will explode. And Wave with it!
