OT - laptop hardrives
Would appreciate comment from laptop knowledgeable board member.
I have an IBM T22, 900 MHz, PIII which is now a bit slow for my taste. I use the laptop mainly for internet. Memory (PC100) is maxed at 500 MB. The hard drive is the stock 20 GB, 4200 RPM, 12 ms access time, 2 mb cache, travelstar hard drive. Hitachi now offers an E7K60, 7200 RPM travelstar, attractively priced. 10 ms access time, 8 mb cache. Would swapping out the HD with an E7k60 make a noticeable difference? I haven't a clue.
