After waiting six days, the Penguins learned their second-round playoff opponent tonight. They will face Jaromir Jagr and the New York Rangers.
That was determined after Philadelphia eliminated Washington with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 7 of their first-round series.
Dates, times and television information for Round 2 are expected to be announced by the NHL late tonight.
This will be the first time Jagr has faced his former team in the playoffs. The Rangers have been waiting to learn their next opponent since Friday, when they eliminated New Jersey. The Penguins swept Ottawa in the first round.
The Penguins were 3-3-2 against the Rangers in the regular season but were 0-3-1 at Madison Square Garden.
