ProtectDrive is a Common Criteria (CC) EAL2 certified full drive encryption solution that encrypts the entire hard disk of laptops, workstations and servers. It is commonly deployed to protect against disclosure of sensitive information in the case of theft or accidental loss of a hardware device, or re-use after being sold or reaching its lease expiry. Pre-boot authentication functionality is a critical strength of ProtectDrive ensuring the operating system and file system content are completely encrypted and non-bootable without valid user access credentials. This ensures unauthorized users cannot view (in a decipherable format), or modify the contents of the operating system or file system. Additionally, it eliminates the threat of the original operating system being bypassed to read un-encrypted data off the hard disk on another machine, or accessibility via data hacking tools.
