Catchnrel, you're right, but it goes way beyond just that. There is a concept called lost opportunity cost. What about the other uses IDCC could have had for the money owed them by NOK and others over the past 9 years? What about strategic aquisitions that could have added substantial shareholder value? There are many ways IDCC could have put that money to work over the years that would have generated much more than simple interest on amounts owed.
