I scan the markets a lot.
Also *remember it trading bigtime on the way out a year or so ago.
When I seen the volume, I knew something was up. Been dormant for along time.

Basically, dead pennies recycle themselves/interest every soo often.

On a number of my trades I have purposely left only a few dollars worth of shares for DAILY/MONITORING activity.

Its interesting to watch shares split, become new names, etc etc. Notice it a lot more frequently when holding a bunch of small positions for the hey of it. Bottom line is- When you have say $25 worth of stock left over from a trade, or uptick buy and you look at it a year later and its only like $1.00 total....it may be a good buy =)
Or sometimes, though not often the $25 turns into a 100 or more.
Long story short, thats basically how I noticed pups right away.
Best to you. -V =)
