The RECAF test worked well. It was used on all the samples with the results presented at the ISOBM. The automated analyzer was also used on all the blind test samples that led to the signing of Inverness. The test WORKS and WORKS well.

Why Abbott elected to not take it into trials is really unknown but I suspect someone in management decided that a sucessful test needed to have a very difinitive YES / NO result to be competitive with all the upcoming DNA tests that are predictive of getting cancer. Read that last sentence in the abstract for the ISOBM. It just does not fit with the rest of the information presented. First they state how great the results are and btw, they were really good, then someone, probably in upper management that reveiwed the abstract added the last sentence, essentially, "but we want it better". Where is Abbott coming from? Someone over there in management just does not understand RECAF and has their you know what up their you know what.
