absolute relativism of the absolute, if you will -- he can have his absolutism, you can have your absolutism, and may the best absolutism win (my encapsulation following, of course):
"it's not ascertainable whether the objective is ascertainable, if it exists
so just forget even trying to actually understand or take into account everything, all people and interests, in determining what is best and right for you to think and be and do -- that simply isn't your obligation because you can't do it anyway
instead, and indeed therefore, the one and the only point of this little exercise of life that actually matters is for you to just figure out what you want to think and be and do and, if and as you can, to go and make it real
and if that means -- or fits in with -- great wealth for its self-defined own good expanding its already huge reach to take openly authoritarian power amidst an endless and well-orchestrated barrage of great lies and vile and hateful fear-inspiring propaganda, of absolute good us v absolute evil them, of wars already being usefully fought for power and profit, of people not of means already stripped of their rights by their own government and being plundered wholesale with the help of their own government?
well then fine, OK, if it's useful to you and makes you happy, then that is what is good and right for you, that is your truth"
THAT is NOT 'philosophy', it's rank gibberish -- boggles me that anyone can honestly take it seriously intellectually; at that level nothing but nihilistically reductionist vapid inanity -- a mere and profoundly asinine attitude as opposed to any insight into knowledge -- it begins with the denial of the obvious and pretends, and eternally throughout history whether consciously or not in practice has been used by tyrants and bigots and blowhards and ignorant jackasses of all stripes, to 'permit' whatever self-defined 'belief' to 'rationalize' things that are obviously objectively evil and wrong
which is to say, THAT is the very ESSENCE of bullshit
bullshit that in my opinion we either grow up and leave behind, or, before too damned much longer, we very likely will not be here anymore, as least not in terms of anything resembling our current 'civilization'
