Mike, I'm trying to imagine a blackbox trading setup that could accomplish what we have seen today - declining prices on high volume - possibly without substantially increasing short interest.

If Blackbox1 (seller) were to short-sell to Blackbox2 (buyer) at a declining bid setup for part of the day, and then reverse the setup to transfer shares in the other direction again on declining prices, the shorted shares would get covered with the buyback but there would be no increase in short interest.

What are your thoughts on this?
