The surprise for me was not that they did the demo, but that they are sampling to customers.

What exactly was demoed? Their "press kit" says:

are running server and client operating systems, respectively, in development systems at AMD.

Is there a live demo at CEBIT or a live video demo from AMD labs? When it comes to demos and launches AMD likes to blur reality a bit, as this article on the Puma platform suggests

AMD today paper launched its Puma platform in a press event streamed live over the web.
