I wonder if AXTEL is beating out No MAS Cables for customers?

SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCIA, Mexico, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Axtel, S.A.B. de C.V. ("AXTEL"), a Mexican fixed-line integrated telecommunications company, announced today the commencement of operations in Pachuca, Hidalgo, the 10th new city for AXTEL in 2007.

AXTEL now provides local and long distance telephony, broadband Internet, web hosting, data storage and security, VPNs and built-to-suit communications solutions, among others, in twenty-seven cities in Mexico.

During the inaugural ceremony, Andres Velazquez Romero, AXTEL's Mass and Business Markets Executive Director announced that AXTEL will invest approximately US$20 million in Pachuca over the next 5 years. After the initial remarks made by Mr. Velazquez, Mr. Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, Governor of the state of Hidalgo, made the initial AXTEL call.

Company officials stated that the initial network deployment covers 80% of the population in Pachuca, offering integrated telecommunications services to the residential and business customers, as well as financial institutions and government entities.

Commencing operations in Pachuca represents the conclusion of a very successful year in which AXTEL has been able to expand in a significant way, while improving its profitability and financial strength at the same time. The Company is confident that remaining focused on customer service orientation while delivering innovative voice, data and Internet solutions will consolidate AXTEL's presence in this important state capital," stated Roberto Reynoso, AXTEL's Southern Region Director.

AXTEL, a listed company in Mexico's Stock Exchange since December 2005, reported 885 thousand lines in service and 107 thousand internet subscribers as of the end of the third quarter of 2007. AXTEL participates in the residential and business markets generating $9,066 million pesos in revenues during the first nine months of 2007.
