You're right that I don't "know" that his policy is civilisation-neutral in this way. But he is thoughtful enough to have considered it.
As regards the Messianic thing. I'd have thought a whole bunch of conservative Christians would admire a man who turned down the money and decided to help the poor and disenfranchised!
Of course he is just a man. But maybe he is a better man than most. He certainly seems to be a thoughtful man. Rather unlike the incumbent. And he has an unusual gift as an orator.
I'm not trying to be dismissive when I say I think these are aboriginally Rovian emanations, distributed by the usual means. What's good is bad and what is bad is good. The Republican machine is beginning to become visible. I'll grant you that. These guys are working on their talking points.
