TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 11, 2008) - Tonbridge Power Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TBZ) 100% shareholder of Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. ("MATL"), a company developing a transmission line project to interconnect the electricity markets of Alberta and the United States through a 300 MW transmission line between Lethbridge, Alberta and Great Falls, Montana (the "MATL Project"), is pleased to report that the US Department of Energy, ("DOE"), working with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, ("MDEQ"), have issued a draft Environmental Impact Statement, ("EIS"), and have now filed this document with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA). The company has been informed by the DOE that the EPA will publish a Notice of Availability in the Federal Register on Friday February 15 from which point the draft EIS report will be subject to a 45 day public comment period that will include three days of public hearings and will end on March 31, 2008. The hearings will take place on March 11, 12 and 13 in Great Falls, Cut Bank and Conrad respectively. The DOE and MDEQ will issue a final EIS after considering the comments submitted during the public comment period. The DOE and MDEQ are expected to issue their Record of Decision 30 days and 15 days after the issue of the final EIS, respectively. Once the Record of Decision is released, the remaining US regulatory permits required for the MATL line can be issued.

The issuance of this draft report removes significant uncertainty from the regulatory timelines associated with the MATL project as the MDEQ had previously issued an environmental study a year ago. When additional concerns about the project were raised in the comment process, the DOE determined that a second, more thorough, review was required. The issuance of the draft EIS signals the end of this process with the US regulators and puts Tonbridge on track to obtain all of its regulatory approvals in the first half of 2008.

Johan van't Hof, President Tonbridge Power remarked, "The additional comments that the regulators were required to take into consideration during this second, more intense review, gives us great comfort that all issues have now been considered and that the regulators are now very close to wrapping up what has been a long and thorough process. We are very thankful for the continued active support of Governor Brian Schweitzer and US Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester whose continued involvement with the MATL project has helped us maintain progress. We eagerly look forward to beginning construction in their great state once all the pieces are in place."
