I have only been following QCOM and IDCC for a few years....but I was under the impression that IDCC was a skeleton company with few engineers and lots of lawyers...maybe only 55 employees or so.

They were formed with litigation in mind...and the race was on to patent what they could. "Invention" wasn't their objective..."Litigation"...the new american way...was.

They got in one settlement with QCOM but they really hoped W-CDMA would be their payoff...like lots of others.

If it wasn't a war out there, the right thing for QCOM to do would be to put IDCC on "ignore". Unfortunately QCOM can't turn their back on anybody.

I wouldn't touch that company because I don't believe in their philosophy and lack of integrity.
