I have a question:
Years ago I had a girlfriend (a friend that was a girl) who was a teacher and I also worked with her at a different job. She had a great dis-like for Christians but thought I was o.k. as well as this other teacher who attended and served at my old mission church whom she worked with.
I invited her to an outreach we had. It was a women's luncheon and the guest speaker was the teacher she worked with at public school and liked.
She said she would only come if I went and watched her sing a few songs at the bar where her husbands band played in town.
Oh my. I don't go to bars because living on a Mission field this is not right for me.
I found out the time she would be singing and it was the last of the four sets the band was playing. I decided to go and sure enough everyone in town that was a partier was there.
I listened to her sing three songs and she came down and sat with me. I told her she had a beautiful voice, which she did. I asked her if she was going to sing anymore and she said no. I said o.k then I'm out of here.
She decided to sing again after I left. When she was singing a huge fight broke out between the loggers and tree planters. Chairs were thrown, bottles broken and people hurt. The owner locked the bar. Two patty wagons were called to haul everyone off to jail. Ambulances were called to take some to the hospital. My personal friends that I had seen there left when the fight broke out because they knew what would happen next. (Doors locked because damages would be paid back. 2k on that one)
Oh man,,,,I was so happy I left when I did. She did come to my churches womens luncheon. She didn't get saved. I felt I had a poor trade off.
Now I invited a friend who thinks he's a Christian to my church. He said he would go if I went to his church. His church is a cult. It has some weird name like Christian Scientist. He goes there I bet once every few years now.
I've never been to a cult church before. I'm kind of afraid. Would God like me in some place like that?
If I go is something off the wall going to happen like the time I went and watched my friend sing?
