From the earnings release: "(Intel)paid record cash dividends of $2.6 billion and used $2.75 billion to repurchase 111
million shares of common stock" This totals $5.35B spent in favor of shareholders. Some may make the argument that the $2.75B in stock repurchase didn't create share value but one can also make the argument that it prevented further share dilution which is a benefit for all shareholders.

Perhaps you would like Intel to drain their coffers so they have no more money for R&D, Capital Expenditures, etc.. But I would prefer Intel not follow AMD's approach to running their business, I prefer the current balanced approach.
