Summarizing this thread, Nocona 90nm may be 1 month ahead of Opteron 90nm if Intel delivers on its Q2 promise and AMD delivers on its April 8 production wafer start promise. Nocona, if its out first, may leapfrog 130 nm Opterons in performance for 1P and 2P, but that will obviously only last until AMD's 90 nm is out.

But why would any IT manager in his right mind buy an Intel-based server that does not have NX protection? IMO, this AMD-only feature will also increase AMD's sales in the low-end 1P server market where Opteron might be overkill. Well, who cares if you can get it at the same price and it has virus and worm protection?
