Data.JKJ, I guess this is what I was trying to get a handle on. From the PR release about 1 year ago.

"With InterDigital's 2G patents expiring, Goldberg hopes to cut deals for its newer patents on higher-speed third-generation, or 3G, technology that can help expand bandwidth for wireless e-mail or Web browsing.
