Zen, Seagate was 'suppose' to have FDEs 2 1/2 years ago. I guess it was Wave's fault it took so long, but Seagate prevailed, spent the money to develop it, and now is marketing it (spending the bucks) with Dell and Wave (as equal partners) in making it all work.
Many have belittled the company for not spending money, (they do not have), to market Wave's software. The reason is seen now: they don't HAVE to spend any money because they have the product that Dell and Seagate needs to sell their product. (Not to mention NEC and probably HP down the road).
I don't think HP has what Dell, Seagate and Wave have. IF they did, you would have heard about it already. They are not going to let Dell and Seagate eat their lunch. They either have to have an answer to the Most Secure Computer in the World, or they will have to offer Wave's solution down the road.
Seagate and Dell have the money to market this to the World. BusinessWeek, USAToday, Forbes, The Economist are but a few they are spending THIER bucks on. Why would they do this unless they think they have a product that will sell? I am sure they are not advertising just to support the publications, that's silly. They are doing it to promote THEIR brand name and offer the world THE MOST SECURE COMPUTER IN THE WORLD. And Wave is in that package.
Yes, I guess SKS and Lark really took us for a ride, and it's going to be a might fine ride at that.
