Micaela, a reseller in Florida that cm came up with. They claim to be implementing TPM equipped machines for the health care field, so I asked them what the response has been. My email and thier answer below:
Hello,
As simply an interested party on the impact of Trusted Computing in the medical/HIPAA market, I'm wondering what kind of response you are getting to the TPM equipped computers? I feel that TC is the coming paradigm change which is still way under the radar as to it's many applications. Any comment would be appreciated. Thanks.
Dear Mr xxxxxx:
For those in healthcare who understand the concepts of digital signatures and encryption, the TPM is well-received. The TPM is especially important for HIPAA security compliance implications. We are having trouble getting Intel TPM-supported motherboards, however. Our distributors presently do not have these motherboards in stock. This situation will, of course, change in the near future.
Another problem is that, so far, Intel has only implemented the TPM on a microATX form-factor motherboard. Hopefully, the TPM chip will be available on ATX motherboards soon.
We also sell biometrics devices (iris/fingerprint scan) useful for secure computing environments.
Thank you for your inquiry and I hope this answers your question.
Best regards,
