Here is his bio. He's not just some bum from the streets.
He worked 15 years as founder and senior partner of an international law firm with offices in Montreal, Toronto, Paris and Düsseldorf.
He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Alis Technologies from 1986 to 2004 when Alis was sold to Nstein Technologies.
He was Chairman of the Board of Ad-Opt Technologies (AOP) (sold to Kronos in 2004).
He was Chairman of the Board of Aveltech (sold to Ortivius in 2005).
He was Chairman of the Board of Novasys.
He was the director of Élix (now BCE-Elix), which is a Bell Canada company.
He was also National Chairman of The Canadian Advanced Technology Association (CATA) from 1991 to 1994 and Chairman of ADRIQ from 1995 to 1998.
From 1992 to 1995, he was a member of the Board of Societe Innovatech du Grand Montreal, a $300 million investment fund.
In 1996, he was appointed to the Technology Partnerships Canada Advisory Board, a $350 million advanced technology fund.
He is also Vice-President of The Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) which represents 1,300 companies and more than 500,000 employees in Canada. (www.itac.ca)
