08-Nov-07 13:37 ET In Play Crsytallex hopes to secure Venezuela's mine permit soon - DJ (3.09 +0.17) : DJ reports the miner expects to obtain an environmental permit soon that has delayed the start of operations at Venezuela's Las Cristinas gold mine for years, the co's president said. "The permit has to be given to us at any minute," Luis Felipe Cottin, Crystallex's president in Venezuela, told a group of reporters in a press conference. "This is a bureaucratic process, and administrative matter that should be solved soon," he added. Cottin attributed the delayed approval to the constant officer changes at the mining ministry including several mining ministers in recent years. Cottin also dismissed the idea that a pending mining law could in any way affect the co's operations. "From the draft law proposals I've seen there's nothing to suggest that operating contracts could change," he said.
