Hi, all. I don't post much but I'm in and keep up with this board a lot. I'm excited about all the stores they plan on opening but I hope they are paying attention to real estate's #1 rule: location, location, location. There was a dollar store that I past by everyday to work that only made it for a little over a year and then closed. It was a big and pretty building on a main route but in an upper middle class neighborhood. Could that have been its downfall? Who knows? On the flipside, there's a dollar store close to me in a stripmall by a less busy route in a middle, lower middle class neighborhood. This one has been around for years in a tight, bland store with subpar products and it's still open. That store has no where near the quality merchandise and aesthetics that M99 appears to have. So I guess the moral of my story is: nothing is foolproof and works anywhere everytime. I hope I'm wrong and and they can't stock the shelves fast enough. They can't afford a couple stores failing right out of the gate. With James Brola's experience with Wal-mart, I hope they can avoid that.
