WOW! I sincerely hope you do not mind, but, I put you message in my keep folder, I just don't know when I might be in a position to pass on your story. Only those who have walked such a life can identify whith those suffering such a life today, Many can sympathize but only a few can identify.
I never suffered the addition of alcohol or drugs, my addition was ciagrettes roughly 3 to 4 packs per day, was a good time to have stock in Phipip Morris. I tried everything to quit, I actually got very good at quitting, I got to where I could quit 8 or 10 times a day. 3 to 4 packs per day sounds like a lot, but back then I was working around 60 hours non-stop, just cigarette and coffee and I was ready to go, go, go.
To cut this short after trying many things to quit I decieded to try Hypnosis, well it got started and the only thing I knew was I just wasted $40., I took a moment an spoke with God about my situation:
"Lord you know how many times I have attempted to quit this habit, in no way can do it on my own, if it is meant for me to stop smoking you will need to make it so, If you do not then I'll not try again as it is just a waste of time and effort."
From that night on I have never smoked another smoke.

POINT: I truly believe when one comes to the true and complete understanding that he/she is completely powerless with their problem, acknowledges their situation, humbles themselves before God and ask for help....that help will come. I am speaking of the end of the road thing, nowhere else to turn to, totally giving up on yourself, turn to God....He is always there.

One other thing, He know the difference between "Sincerity and Testing".
