You guys need to be careful in what you write on these forums.

This is not correct.
STX is adding FDE to Barracuda for mid-08, and only for enterprise version drives. There are STX drives classified for speed, ruggedness, size, etc etc etc.
It will be years before STX puts it on all drives, imo.
Barracuda *is* an enterprise drive, adn their biggest seller, but we don't know how many types of Barracuda drives will be designated as FDE. And of course, there's always the individuals that don't want FDE that need to be catered to.
