I don't know if the Sears flyer in this Sunday's newspaper is the same everywhere, but the one in my newspaper showed the new "Spiricell" car battery they are now offering.

"Spiricell Technology is tightly compressed spiral would cells with absorbed Glass-Mat separators (which) hold electrolyte like a sponge to eliminate acid spilling"

They are more expensive than the standard Diehard and the ad says nothing about longer life, lighter weight, etc. However, it's plainly obvious that improvements in batteries ARE being marketed. This could very well be the tip of the iceberg as far as new products are concerned.
