Newly, I recall being intrigued when I saw women in LA driving and putting makeup on in the early 80's. I had read about it, but seeing it firsthand was kind of a buzz.

I do admit to having read the newspaper while driving in those days, so I guess that's not much different.

I also used to be fairly accomplished at driving while asleep while in college.

PS: I've never had an at fault accident, and no accident I've been in resulted in more than $500 damage to my vehicle (once I was the 5th car hit in a 5-car chain reaction, and twice women t-boned my front end trying to sneak into traffic blindly while boneheads were stopped illegally in the road letting them in).
