Analysts estimate that tens of millions of PCs have shipped through 2007 with embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chips. Every one of these chips is accompanied by software from Wave Systems. -Microsoft requires the TPM for logo compliance -The US Army has mandated that all machines must contain the TPM -In July 2007, the Department of Defense mandated encryption of all at-rest data on mobile devices and requires that all new computer assets, servers, desktops, laptops and PDAs' include the TPM chip. Wave not only supports the management of TPMs, but also Seagate fully encrypting hard drives. Major PC manufacturers, such as Dell, have chosen to offer Seagate drives with Wave software for simplified enterprise deployments.
