IBZT vs Canesta & AID

It does not surpise me that another company has developed the same technology. As the saying goes, "there is more than one way to skin a cat" virtually I mean. I was disturbed that in doing my DD two weeks ago, I missed Canesta's existence. They have developed chipsets and hold patents which appear to be different enough to avoid patent infringement on VKB out of Isreal. VKB holds patents on IBIZ's device and IBIZ has an exclusive license to market them in the U.S. I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

However, this VKB/IBIZ agreement doesn't prevent Canesta and its customers, particularly AID from competing. You should look at what their listed customers and partners are saying. For example, Advanced Input Devices(AID) expects to market "electronic perception technology" i.e. VKB's in early 2004. Go to

to see their "Lightkey Projection Keyboard". My first guess is their product may be packaged in a console with a processor and screen, which would price it upwards of $1000 and be aimed at institutions and the military. Has anyone looked at this?

Maybe their targeted market is why I haven't heard a whisper of this competitor's existence.

I hope to hear that others were not in the dark and have already discounted their existence.

To me it appears that some portion of IBIZ's potential markets such as Hospitals and other institutions are threatened by the AID product. I don't think you'll find them for sale at Circuit City, Staples, etc.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
