Larry, in actuality, Martha wouldn't have been charged unless she [allegedly] lied to the government. It's the obstruction of justice charge that got her. The insider trading case is weak, at best. In fact, the Justice Department’s criminal indictment does not charge Stewart with insider trading. Only the SEC’s civil complaint did so. According to published reports, the U.S. Attorney decided going after Stewart would be an “unprecedented” expansion of insider trading law.
