But I don't think he really wanted out. I think he wants the money, knowing the yankees were 1 of the few teams that will pay that money. Boras first rule of action when 1 of his guys can become a free agent is to get the guy to free agency as fast as he can to let other teams bid on him to drive the price up. Even if the yankees were the only team he wanted to play for he was going to go to free agency as he was instruced to do by boras to get every last buck he could. Thats why Boras is trying so hard to bully the yankees and make them look bad for not bidding on A-Rod, because he wants to drive the price up. A-Rod really believed that the yankees were bluffing and there have been friends of his that say he is trying to undue this mess he created without completly embarrasing himself even more than he already has.
