What will keep these companies honest in the future is for IDCC to stop settling past infringements for pennies on the dollar. If the infringers know they will ultimately have to pay their full share plus interest, it won't do any good to stall in the courts. These companies have legal fees too and when you add the legal fees with the interest on the settlement liability, that cost of litigating will out weigh the benefit received.

I believe IDCC is finally willing to take a stand and not settle for pennies on the dollar. So far, they have told Sammy and Nolia to go fly a kite with their piddly settlement offers. I am willing to wait another six to nine months to ride out the current litigation. I do not want IDCC settling for pennies on the dollar with Samsung or Nokia. That will just send another wrong message to the other infringers and encourage them to stall as well.
