Wow. That's dark.

For the scenario you laid out to occur the world would have to continue sucking oil and have it ABRUPTLY vanish. It won't play out that way, IMO. As demand increases and production decreases oil will go to $100, $200, even $500 a barrel. These prices will make a whole host of other technologies economically viable.

Hydrogen is the be all end all solution, you make it from water, and you burn it which creates water. We just haven't figured out how to generate enough power to make enough of it.

Solar probably isn't enough. Nuclear is the cheap easy out, but now your just dependent on another resource that will be depleted.

A little over 100 years ago we started our love affair with oil. It will be another 100 years before we can wean ourselves off of it. If you look at the industrial and technological advances of the last 100 years, and consider the computer technology we use today to invent the next greatest widget, you can't even imagine what the next 100 years will bring.

Rest assured, there will be a solution. It might hurt like he|| getting there, but get there we will.

ERHC's share of JDZ oil; 1 billion barrels. Once proven, ERHE will be $10+. All we need is time and patience.

Nuf said.
