The Earth just simply has too many people on it,....all sucking out its non-renewable resources. The real challenge will come, when countries that have vast areas of rich farmland, have to decide whether they will feed the world, or fuel their industrial base with the grain stock.

The USA is in a very good position, actually...the bread basket of the midwest will sustain this country, with food and fuel...but the country will be vastly scaled down and different.

Europe will be in utter chaos,imo....the middle east, once the oil is drained will become a dust bowl....Africa will be plundered for its resources (which is occuring now)...China will starve to death, their ariable farm land, will not support its vast population.

America biggest threat, will come from the starving masses of South and Central America, migrating northward to the promised land....but actually their own resources, and rich farmland could sustain them,...we will need to teach them how to survive,imo.

The Mad Max senario is already here, in some parts of the world...look at the desert regions of Africa...but Europe will crumble first (farmland is shot, and little natural resources are left) Eastern Europe is already starting to fold.... just too many people.
