plfminthemiddle, I very seldom if ever use my cell phone and honestly speaking I don't even know what kind it is. Only one person has my number and that is my son and of course my wife. I don't even have a monthly plan or know my number by heart. I pay about 25 cents a minute and pre-purchased $100.00 worth of minutes about 10 months ago and still have $45.00 worth of credit.

Most times if I leave the house I even forget to turn it on but I do now. Recently I had a family emergency and the phone wasn't on and my wife got a voice message that said this users mailbox is not set up. Me bad.

The main reason I got one was because last year I went to a doctor in Chicago for a special test and the office was closed. I found that impossible because I was given an appointment. I went to three or 4 restaurants to use a public phone and none had a public phone. I then went to the streets to use a phone and it was near zero outside. I tried 4 or 5 phones and everyone ate up my change and gave me no dial tone. I then realized the gangs had rigged the phones and some how blocked the coin return. I then tried to call the Doctor's cell phone collect and got a message this number does not accept collect calls.

After that I drove about 4 miles to a branch of my bank. I waited in customer service and when the girl asked me how can I help you I told her a was a customer and needed to use a phone. She must have thought I was nuts.

Wind up of the story was there was people in the doctors office and my appointment was before they opened. The doctor thought he was doing me a favor and forgot to tell them to answer the door as a patient is coming in early for a test.

Some story eh?

It's to the point now you must have some type of cell service or a gun. LOL
