Maybe it has something to do with having stock in streetname. Or, it just may be it is a company offer, through nonconventional means (Pinks) to the shareholders. In my opionion, I would wait and see if they can perform on the dividends, or for that matter anything else before going down that road. I would think a brokerage firm would only be responsible for what is sent to them and then, in turn, distribute it to their streetname holders. It would not seem that they could possibly be aware of all the myriad of things that companies might want to do and act on it if it is not sent to them. I think T/As handle that function in coordination with the companies. Brokers are just there to facilitate trades.
