Lovelace

Lovelace, voiced by Robin Williams, is a rockhopper penguin, self-proclaimed oracle of Adélie Land, and a caricature of Barry White. He charges the adélies one pebble in exchange for prophecies. He speaks in a deep baritone, with the inflection of a stereotypical evangelical preacher. Lovelace maintains a harem (which also serves as his gospel choir), and boasts of his power and sex appeal. He aids Mumble in his quest to find the "aliens," and serves as the narrator of the film. For much of his screen time Lovelace is shown with a "sacred talisman" around his neck; this is a plastic six-pack ring used to hold beverage cans together. This becomes Lovelace's undoing, as the ring becomes so tight that he can barely breathe. Lest he choke to death, he reveals to Mumble and the amigos that he is a fraud, and his "talisman" caught around his neck on a swim around the Forbidden Shore, where an abandoned whaling process plant lay and detritus was scattered everywhere. This is where Mumble decides to go for answers, and to save Lovelace from certain death. He tells Mumble's story thourgh the movie a few times.
