Maybe California Closet Systems has made a big move in your area.....
I have a couple of friends that do a pretty big business in used books and also in used clothing. It seems these collection centers usually receive both even though they're designed for clothing. The books come along for "free."
My one college buddy found the used clothing people are hard pressed to get rid of the books. So, he started an on-line book store linked to Amazon to get rid of them. It's now its own separate business.
