I agree, However in the 1970's China sent over a what they called the fixer of all erosion, unfortunately the plant thrived to well in the south eastern states as erosion control and have in a pubescent state been very effective but as the plant matures it virtually goes nuts the Vine is named Kudzu. Takes over everything, the last news and discussions I had on Jatropha Plant (True jatropha) from India has similar characters not Vine like but virtually uncontrollable if it gets out of the growing area.

But....you get two growing seasons and has what is understood 30-to 45% non edible oil that is super toxic.(like kill a cow toxic) But processing, actually makes it non toxic. I have several pounds on the way to my office from a supplier in India. The Department of Agriculture has to sign off on the shipment before I take possession oct. 22nd. I planed to germinate in an inorganic mix and see the results on time of germination under controlled situations.
I have studied the results of Barbados nut that has an alkaloid which shows anti-cancerous properties. Jatropha and Barbados can be hyper cross pollinated I think (this is what i intended on trying) a result in speculation is a 50% to 60% approx grease nut of non edible oil nut, ready for production of biodiesel. Farmers would not have to be super scientists and it would plant basically like soy bean except super drought resistant and grow 40 to 60" .
Much like the Jatropha the nut will have a 6 bi-valved cocci instead of the three bi-valved cocci. Resulting in a harder larger nut doubling the nut production to twice per year harvest. Not to bad.

If this works out the industry would have another feed source that will grow virtually every ware, for next to nothing to grow, but the yield financially would be very profitable for the farmers.
