I wouldn't put it past the brokers to have a day-trader buy many shrs of the stock they want to manipulate for a larger entity. That day-trader would buy or sell at the broker's or larger entity's request. But they don't TARGET stocks, just ask Jim Cramer. When he was in charge of a hedge fund a while back, they did it on a regular basis. According to him new start companies don't deserve to prosper unless he and his buds said so.
