Have recently installed Tiger, and was pleasantly surprised at the dramatic improvement in startup time. I wonder if the upgrade might have fixed something like a corrupt font. Also maxed out RAM to 2 gigs and that really make a difference in web browsing.
I am very happy with my 4 year old Macbook. Besides browsing, most of my time is spent in 4th Dimension, which has a compiler and generates extremely fast apps. My wife, on the other hand, does a lot of work with iPhoto and could really use an upgrade from her c2002 eMac. We are concerned about glare on the new iMacs and one of my tasks while visiting my son in Arlington VA is to look at one in the Apple Store. No stores in Maine
