Mama T is in Heaven raising hell!
My Mom passed away yesterday and I should have known she would leave this world the way she lived and fight until her last breath. As awful as this week has been I was in awe of her determination and it seemed no amount of morphine, last rites of the church, or tearful plea to let go was going to change her relentless fighting spirit.
Finally I said OK Mom you win, I hear you loud and clear You will go when you’re ready and if you can bear this so can I.
I am so lucky to have a partner that supported me 100% and together we took this final journey with the last of our parents, caring for them till their death in our home.
I wish I could tell you that it was a happy Hollywood ending but that is only in the movies. Some of those difficult images we will have to deal with for the rest of our lives and eventually I will get passed them with the more humorous ones that occurred…
So in honor of my Mom I will leave you with one final Mama Terrorist Story
Near the end my Mom was in and out of dementia and after I had a long overdue crying session I returned to her bedside holding her hand with my puffy face (at least I hope that was the case) suddenly mom woke up looked at me and in a loud strong voice said Your face is so big! Jesus Christ Are you getting fatter?
On her tombstone next to my dad I think I’m going to have it read.. DAD YOUR VACATION IS OVER
A heartfelt thank you to all my Ihub friends for their kind thoughts and prayers.
I will be taking some time away from Ihub, I have a lot of personal family issues, memorial service and David & I need to spend some long overdue time together….
Take care of yourselves and see you after I get some rest . Love you guyz....Jeff
