The latest on OJ: He was officially charged today with 7 felonies. He'll be arraigned tomorrow. I believe there will be a bail hearing tomorrow as well.
He's now facing additional charges of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping because once in the hotel room he prevented one of collectors from calling 911 on his cell phone "by ripping it out of Bruce Fromong's hand" while one or more accomplices pointed or displayed a handgun. In Nevada kidnapping is defined as keeping someone confined against their will for a period of time. As with armed robbery, you don't have to be the one holding the gun if the others are considered accomplices.
One of the victims, Bruce Fromong, later that day had a heart attack. He is the one who tried to call 911, and described OJ as bursting into the room "commando style". After the incident Fromong complained of chest pain and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The hospital today said Fromong had a heart attack and was in critical condition.
Simpson could now face up to life in prison.
