Network World's IT Roadmap Conference Demonstrations will Show How Wave's Software Can Harness Industry Standard Security Chips for Strong Authentication, Network Access Control and Data Protection

LEE, Mass. & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: WAVX; www.wave.com) today announced it will be conducting demonstrations using its EMBASSY® software to manage security functions for the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chips found on many enterprise-class desktop and notebook PCs shipping today. Organizations can immediately address the critical problems of data protection, strong authentication and threats to their existing Network Access Control solutions using Wave's software in conjunction with the TPM.

"Today you'll find TPM technology on a growing number of PCs within any given organization--and on the PCs of many of that organization's customers, vendors and suppliers. As trusted platforms become commercially available, we believe that putting them to work should be a critical component of any forward-thinking organization's IT roadmap," said Brian Berger, executive vice president of marketing and sales for Wave. "We're looking forward to educating the decision makers who visit our booth on how they can use the embedded security they already have to address some of the most critical security problems facing their organization today."

The Trusted Platform Module chip is a specialized microcontroller that generates keys to encrypt the contents of a hard drive and can store sensitive data such as passwords and security keys. Analysts estimate that tens of millions of PCs with embedded TPMs have shipped through 2007. Wave has designed its security applications to work with commercially available TPMs.

The Network World IT Roadmap Dallas Conference & Expo 2007 takes place Thursday, September 6 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Visit Wave Systems in booth #407.
