I find that waiting for the trade to become compelling...rather than being compelled to trade seems to work well. I don't target a monthly percentage, or a certain number of trades. I just trade when the conditions are right and everything else just takes care of itself.
If I set a goal of 10% in any given month, and the end of the month rolls around and I'm only up 5%...the pressure is on to potentially feeling compelled to trade. I just focus on trading PROPERLY. Some months will see me sitting on the sidelines quite a bit.
