AIRSCOOTER-II TO BE ON DISPLAY AT WIRED's LOS ANGELES NEXTFEST FESTIVAL
AirScooter UAVs Also to be Exhibited at San Diego Unmanned Systems Conference
(LAS VEGAS, NV, August 27, 2007) - AirScooter Corporation (OTC: ASCO), an innovator of new air vehicle technology, announced today upcoming marketing events for its air vehicles. The AirScooter®- II Personal Air Vehicle (PAV) and AirScooter® UAV will be on display in the transportation pavilion at WIRED's NextFest festival at the Los Angeles Convention Center from September 13 through 16. The AirScooter gas G70 and electric E70 UAVs will also be exhibited at the Unmanned Systems Interoperability Conference in Coronado from October 29 through 31.
WIRED's vision of a new World's Fair, WIRED NextFest is a four-day festival of innovative products and technologies that are transforming our world. This year's NextFest in Los Angeles will feature more than 160 interactive exhibits from leading scientists and researchers. The public is invited September 14 through 16 to experience the future of communication, design, entertainment, exploration, health, play, robots, transportation, security, and green living. For more information on the festival visit www.wirednextfe st.com. Over 100,000 attendees combined were attracted to the previous three festivals in San Francisco, Chicago and New York.
The Unmanned Systems Interoperability Conference is sponsored by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) the world's largest nonprofit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems community. AUVSI, with members from government organizations, industry and academia, is committed to fostering, developing and promoting unmanned systems and related technologies.
The AirScooter-II PAV is a simple and easy to fly coaxial rotor craft for recreational use. The PAV has recently been upgraded with the latest AeroTwin® four- stroke engine and a modern composite coaxial rotor system. While designed for recreational manned flight, AirScooter's patented design has applications in manned and unmanned military and homeland security applications.
AirScooter's wholly-owned subsidiary, AeroTwin Motors Corporation, manufactures a powerful lightweight sport aircraft engine that makes AirScooter- II possible. The patented AeroTwin® engine produces an efficient 65 hp at 4200 rpm, smooth/flat torque and quiet operation ideal for a wide range of sport vehicles. Now in early production, engines have already been sold and delivered in the United States, Canada and New Zealand with interest from more than 45 countries worldwide. Early fight testing is validating AeroTwin's four-stroke power solution in both new aircraft and to repower legacy two-stroke engine aircraft.
AirScooter UAVs are in the tactical VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) class, positioned smartly between the high-end hobby category and the limited selection of expensive military/commercial UAVs available today. These robust craft are ideally suited for aerial photography, surveillance, research and a range of homeland security applications. AirScooter unmanned aerial vehicles feature a rugged patented coaxial flight platform providing outstanding hovering ability, stable flight, precision response and control all in an economical package. Both the G70 and E70 employ a 70-inch coaxial rotor and control system, minimizing the complexity of coaxial systems of the past, but scalable to future craft, smaller or larger in size.
"We are very excited and honored to be one of the select invitees to display our AirScooter Personal Air Vehicle at WIRED's unique festival showcasing new ideas and technologies," said Dwaine Barnes, president of AirScooter Corporation. "AirScooter attracts wide-ranging interest confirming the public appetite for personal recreational flight. Our updated AirScooter-II equipped with a new AeroTwin engine and composite rotors will continue flight testing after the festival."
Barnes, discussing AirScooter UAVs, added "Our patented coaxial control system provides exceptional hovering and precision flight control. We just completed confirming G70 and E70 flight testing and are very pleased with the results. Whether the requirement is for quiet electric performance or long duration gasoline powered flight, we provide a compelling solution for customers dissatisfied with the limitations of high-end hobby craft but unable to justify the high costs of commercial/military UAVs often costing $100,000 to $500,000 or more. The AUVSI conference provides a forum to demonstrate our vehicles to the right audience of customers."
