Hi Little Canuck. Any time that you start up the Platform, the system will first check your system’s version of the program against the then current version at their website. If theirs is fresher than yours, the newer version will be downloaded to you automatically, and then continue to start up your system without you doing anything more that entering your password. Even the password thing is done automatically on subsequent startups without you needing to enter it again (usually).

The current downside to exiting during the day, then restarting, is that your Time of Sales history accumulated to that point in the day will disappear, and your TOS info will start again from scratch. As this is one of the problems that they are aware of, there’s always the possibility that this limitation will disappear in the next update.

Go ahead and start up your system in the morning (most updates have been before market open). If the update comes later in the day, or if it is delayed to next week, then someone will probably mention it here, and you can exit and restart when it does show up (if you wish) to start using the newer version.
