WORLDWIDE - Anti-virus companies are racing to generate a patch for a new e-mail virus that's spreading like wildfire across the world.

Dubbed "MyDoom", ZDNet.com reports the virus comes into your inbox with one of many random subject lines like "Mail Delivery System" or "Mail Transaction Failed" but there are several others.

As usual, if someone runs the attachment, it launches the virus from your computer. But ZDNet.com reports it's so early in the process, anti-virus companies have yet to determine what exactly the purpose of the virus is.
