Stephanie, I just saw a video of Dick Cheney made in 1994, and I'm absolutely stunned. As CBS reporter Hank Plante reports, "It was the first confirmation of Cheney's comments that invading Iraq would result in a "quagmire" for years to come." In it Cheney defends the decision in the first Gulf War not to go into Baghdad. "How many additional dead Americans is Saddam worth? Our view was not very many, and I think we got it right," he said in the interview with the American Enterprise Institute.

Everybody has got to see this video! It's unbelievable. Cheney describes what a mistake it would be to occupy Iraq, and in warning of the consequences he accurately describes EXACTLY what is now happening there. Some in the news business knew the video existed, but Cheney's office has always poo-pooed and refused to discuss it. But now it has surfaced on Youtube and you can see it.
